COLD WEATHER

Cold Weather Guideline is: -25 degrees -32 wind-chill.

We are setting up a notification method with information regarding practice cancellations, race day info, etc. Our coordinators will be sending out an email regarding cancellation information to the club members. The cold weather guidelines, -25 degrees C or -32 wind-chill, will be a decision point about practice cancellations. Please check Environment Canada for weather information by:

5:00 PM Tuesdays
9:00 AM Saturdays

This is a GUIDELINE for the coordinator to use in making a decision about whether or not to have practice. Wind velocity, wind direction, warming or cooling trends, snow, how many missed practices have there been, etc., all these things come into play in making a good decision and the GUIDELINE is exactly that. It is a signal to parents for you to check e- mail if practice is on.

Ultimately it will be up to the coordinator to decide if practice/races will be held and it is ultimately up to you PARENTS if you bring your child. We want parents to know that if you keep your child at home because you feel it is too cold, we support and respect you in this decision as you know your own child best. However, we also have other kids that really want to come out in colder temperatures and we have safely and regularly held practices within this guideline in the past.
